Voodoo Girl

Character Portrait: Selina

I started using a lot of different sytles of photoshop brush with this picture. As a result the background came easily and quickly, but the improved quality of the background demanded that I put more effort into the figure. It’s a classic dark fantasy/ horror girl picture so I gave it a classic composition.

Yes, that’s Sutro tower in the background for all my SF peeps!

Crow Witch

The Crow Witch painting was inspired by the most wonderful girl I know: my wife Linda (who has a great fondness for crows, witches, and cats). She was done entirely in watercolors and gaouche.

Character Portrait: Sleutel

Here’s another character portrait based on an idea from Seth Lindberg. The original idea was a giant woman with knotted muscles. Her most distinctive feature: the rivulets of blood which constantly issue from her mouth.

I took the idea and ran with it, exposing her entire throat and lower lip. I also figured she would have been a goth back in the mid-90s, but not a cute little goth chick. There’s “punk” in those rotted veins and nothing about her is “cute.” However, you are supposed to see remnants of the good-looking gal she once was.

Babe Sapien

I was once asked how I would remake Creature From the Black Lagoon. My response was I would make the creature a woman and it would be about fish women conquering the fashion industry in order to seduce men into having wild, orgiastic, underwater sex. Then the Mexican wrestlers would arrive!

I’m still waiting for Hollywood to agree to produce my vision, but until then, here’s a painting I did of the Creaturess.
